Junior Movers run by Spectrum Community Arts is a dance class for 8-17 year olds.

SEN Session:

  • 8-17 years

  • Every Tuesday, 6pm - 7pm (Term Time)

  • £10

  • Junior Movers is aimed at those with a lower level of need and who can follow instructions

  • Class size caped at 12

What to Expect:

Each week participants will practice and learn the next steps of their dance routine for that half-term! The music is high-energy pop songs that will have everyone moving and grooving!

It is a structured class, but lots of opportunities to explore and be creative together!

Sensory bag is available to support self-regulation

Ear defenders are available for participants to borrow

Singing to help aid transitions e.g. hello song and goodbye song 

Class capped at 12 performers to reduce the overwhelm.

A Typical Session:

Warm-up

Special Activity: This will look different each week. From working on dance techniques such as travelling across the room or working creatively in a group. Here dancers often get to create their own choreography too!

Dance: Each week dancers practise the dance routine and build on it. Dancers often get to put their own moves into the dance too! 

Break: There will be a 5 minute break in the middle to have a drink, use the toilet.

Game: The game usually consists of moving around the space as a certain character or dancing to music in a certain way!
