Overview:
Autism Bedfordshire is a charity who provide services that help break down the barriers to social participation for autistic people and their families by providing places where they can go and feel comfortable, accepted and not judged by society. Their membership is open to anyone in Bedfordshire who is affected by or connected with autism. You may be a parent, carer, relative or friend of an autistic person, an autistic individual or a professional working in education, health or social services.
To become a member, complete the form and then make a £20 card or paypal payment. Once this has been completed their administration team will send you a welcome email confirming details of your membership including your membership number.

Summer Scheme:
Their Summer Activity Scheme is offered in Bedford and Luton provided a rich mix of onsite and community-based experiences tailored for autistic children and young people aged 3 to 17 across Bedfordshire.
Both Luton and Bedford Junior Activity Schemes have been rated as Outstanding by Ofsted
Junior Activity Scheme
- For autistic children aged 3-9 years old. A 1:1 and occasionally 2:1 can be provided where necessary, supporting up to 20 children each day.Holiday Club
- For autistic young people with moderate to severe learning difficulties needs between 10-17 years old. A 1:1 and occasionally 2:1 can be provided where necessary, supporting up to 18 children each day.Summer Fun
- For autistic young people with lower support needs (accessing mainstream education) between 10-17 years old. Ratio of support is approximately 1:4. Providing support for up to 10 young people each day.
Wanted Fun Youth Club:
Each group has a different activity focus depending on the interests of the young people and what they want to do. Often there are games, Wii, cookery, music and quiz nights.
There are also organised trips out which have included going swimming, ice-skating, bowling, eating out and visiting parks and museums. On these trips out they learn valuable life skills such as money handling, time-keeping, travelling on public transport and coping with crowds and noise.

There are five Wanted Fun groups across the county, (Bedford, Biggleswade, Luton and Leighton Buzzard, Streatley
