The Audley End Enchanted Railway is a magical day out for families including a miniature railway, enchanted fairy and elf walk, adventure play area, nature corner, woodland cafe and gift shop.

Noise Level: Low, outside venue but also the volume of sound and music is reduced, no microphones, flashing lights, or unexpected events or sounds during their sen-friendly sessions.

Parking / Accessibility: Disabled parking is adjacent to the station platform, there are accessible toilets, and a specially designed carriage with room for one wheelchair

What to Expect:

The miniature railway takes you deep into our enchanting woods, the train will then take you back to the picnic field where children can let off steam on the adventure play area.

Families can also explore the enchanted Fairy and Elf Walk, which winds through the magical woods where children can spot tiny fairies and elves living in harmony with nature.

The railway and woods are seasonally decorated.

They also host Christmas & Easter SEND sessions.

“We love to visit the railway and my sen children love the playround. It’s nice that the themes change often but it’s a shame the sen-sessions are so early, it’s still a nice way to start the day though!”

“One thing I would mention to other sen parents, the toilets are right at the beginning so if you have a child like mine who doesn’t let you know until the last second, it’s worth baring this in mind & going on entry or take regular trips (I learnt the hard way and we were half way round on the train!)“
