The Phabulous Café

Overview:

A cafe/training centre ran by Phab Life for people with additional needs to gain experience and confidence working in a real café.

What to Expect:

Serving breakfast and lunch, this very cafe is staffed by volunteers and trainees with additional needs. Trainees and volunteers learn a variety of practical and social skills that will make them an asset to any workforce.

They offer a relaxed place to work, helping their trainees gain confidence and learn all the skills needed to run a café.

Trainees learn:

• customer service

• taking and serving orders

• using the till

• coffee making

• food prep

They also provide social meet ups under their charity Phab Life. The social meet-ups happen at different times outside of the normal working hours. Please see their Facebook page for details.

To train at the Phabulous Cafe, you can apply to their training programme on their website. The training programme runs for 6, 12, or 18 months and trainees will receive support from the team on site as well as a designated mentor.

The Phabulous Cafe also hosts monthly clubs for young adults with additional needs such as, craft, gaming, vinyl evenings. Find more information about their clubs here.
